Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Shares NSFW Text From Wife That Prompted Return From Injury

Tyreek Hill’s wife was not messing around.

The star Dolphins receiver injured his ankle early in his team’s Monday Night Football game against the Titans and did not return until midway through the third quarter. Prior to returning to the contest, Hill said he had texted his wife, telling her that his ankle “hurt.”

She didn’t want to hear it, though. She responded to Hill, telling him that he “better get his a– back in that game,” per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. That tough love apparently helped the Dolphins wideout return to the contest.

While Hill added that he made the decision to sub himself back into the game, it’s likely that his wife’s no-excuses message provided a bit of extra motivation.

Hill, the NFL leader in receiving yards, suffered the injury when he was tackled out of bounds following a reception in the first quarter. He finished the game with four catches for 61 yards, although the Dolphins lost, 28–27.

That leaves Hill sitting at 1,542 receiving yards for the season, as his quest to break Calvin Johnson’s single-season record of 1,964 yards is still on the table with four games remaining on the schedule.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins currently hold the No. 2 seed in the AFC and still have a shot at securing home-field advantage for the postseason.

But Hill’s ankle injury certainly puts a damper on those aspirations. The Dolphins wideout might need another pep talk from his wife to suit up for a Week 15 tilt against the Jets
