The Miami Dolphins still have a long way to go to become cap-compliant by the start of the new league year.
On Tuesday, the team made a move to get closer to that goal, as the Dolphins are releasing cornerback Keion Crossen, according to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.
Crossen, 27, was originally a seventh-round pick of the New England Patriots back in 2018 and signed with Miami in 2022 following stints with the Houston Texans (2019-20) and New York Giants (2021).
He missed the entirety of the 2023 season due to an injury in training camp that caused him to have multiple surgeries throughout the year.
Releasing the special teams ace and depth cornerback saves the Dolphins $2.99 million, but it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him re-signed if and when he’s fully healthy.
