With cornerback Jalen Ramsey out for the foreseeable future, the Dolphins are reportedly signing another defensive back with plenty of big-game experience.
Miami has agreed to a one-year contract with veteran cornerback Eli Apple, according to a Saturday afternoon report from Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Apple, 27, started 15 games for the Bengals last season as they advanced to their second straight AFC championship game.
Picked 10th overall in the 2016 draft by the Giants out of Ohio State, Apple has spent time with New York, the Saints, Panthers and Cincinnati during his seven-year NFL career.
During that time, the Philadelphia-born, New Jersey-educated Apple has developed into one of the league’s most notorious provocateurs. Notably, Apple has a longstanding feud with Miami wide receiver Tyreek Hill, now his teammate.

With Jalen Ramsey out until December, Apple brings a lot of experience to the Miami secondary. His agent Kevin Conner of @UniSportsMgmt confirmed the deal.
Ramsey, who the Dolphins acquired from the Rams on March 12, has reportedly been ruled out until December after undergoing meniscus surgery. Picked five spots before Apple in the 2016 draft, Ramsey has made the Pro Bowl every season in the league with the Jaguars and Los Angeles, except for his rookie year.
