While Grant DuBose has a long recovery, he’s trending upward 24 hours after suffering a scary injury in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
In a statement Monday morning, the Miami Dolphins announced that DuBose has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. While Miami headed back to South Beach, DuBose stayed the night at Memorial Hermann Hospital in downtown Houston.
The second-year receiver still remains there under the care of doctors for continued observation.

“We’ll be excited to see him when doctors deem it appropriate for him to fly,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said later Monday.
During the third quarter of Sunday’s game, DuBose tried to make a catch but was hit in a head-on collision by safety Texans rookie safety Calen Bullock. He violently hit the turf and remained motionless for nearly 11 minutes.
The trained medical staff had to cut off his jersey and pads before placing him on a stretcher. They also placed a brace around DuBose’s neck to stabilize his neck.
While on the board, a tube of some kind was in his mouth and no movement could be seen as he was taken off the field.

“Prayers go out to Grant DuBose,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Really seeing a guy down on the field like that is very hard to see, and we are just praying that all is well with him and that he recovers quickly as possible.”
Bullock, who recorded his fifth career interception, was fined for unnecessary roughness for hitting a defenseless receiver on the play.
“I was praying that he would be OK,” Bullock said postgame. “I wasn’t trying to go out there and hurt nobody.”

The Texans secured a 20-12 win, which factored into Houston clinching the AFC South for a second consecutive season.
“That was a tough situation right there. I’m hoping that he’s OK. I’m praying for his recovery and that he can get back on the field,” Stroud told CBS Sports following the game.
The Texans travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs this Saturday at noon CT.
The Dolphins play host to a San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CT.
