The Miami Dolphins and general manager Chris Grier have done a lot to improve the roster from a team that just missed out on the postseason in 2021 due to a seven-game losing streak that started in Week 2.
Despite the changes that they’ve made CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco still has the Dolphins on the outside of the playoffs in his recent power rankings, as he has them at No. 23 and predicts them to finish the season with a 9-8 record.
Here’s what Prisco wrote about the Dolphins:
“They traded to land Tyreek Hill to juice up the offense, which means the table is set for Tua Tagovailoa. This season is all about him and his play.”
No. 23 is one spot down from where they had them ranked before the draft. They’re just ahead of the Seattle Seahawks and just behind the New Orleans Saints. Those are the same Seahawks that are entrusting Drew Lock to lead their team, and the Saints that are handing the ball the offense to Jameis Winston off an ACL tear without Sean Payton in the room.
Miami is also behind the New England Patriots (No. 18) who lost a number of impact players and their offensive coordinator.
It seems as though the Dolphins aren’t being considered a true postseason contender, and that probably won’t change until the season starts, and the team tries to prove everyone wrong.
