Dolphins OT Isaiah Wynn comments on facing Patriots in 2023

Former first-round draft pick Isaiah Wynn is settling into life with the Miami Dolphins after spending his previous four seasons with the New England Patriots.

A disappointing end to his tenure in New England led to him lingering on the free agent market before finally signing a one-year, $2.3 million dollar deal to take his talents to South Beach.

Wynn spoke with the media on Tuesday and commented on what it will be like when lining up against his former teammates in 2023.

“They’re the team that drafted me, so I appreciate everybody in that organization from the staff to the players,” said Wynn, per FOX Sports’ Henry McKenna. “I thank them. My time was good there, and then it’s going to be fun playing against them because especially seeing them twice a year being on the opposite side; being there previously, you play against guys that may have already been there and now I’m on the other side now. So, it’s always a fun camaraderie. We’ll see how it all plays out for sure.”

Wynn’s run didn’t go as expected with the Patriots, but he wasn’t a bad player.

His biggest problem was a lack of availability. The team could never count on him to stay healthy consistently enough for things to work out. Yes, the 2022 season was an absolute mess on the field, but that was the case for a lot of Patriots players with the team’s offensive coaching struggles.

Perhaps a change of scenery will lead to renewed hope for Wynn on his NFL journey.
