The Miami Dolphins waited until the sixth round to address one of their biggest needs as they drafted Stanford wide receiver/tight end Elijah Higgins with pick No. 197.
Higgins is more of a big slot receiver, but he does have some ability to block in space, but he won’t be doing much of that in-line right away.
Miami is probably hoping that some work with tight ends coach Jon Embree helps his development and transition to his new position.
When the pick was made, Dolphins fans took to social media to share their opinions. Some were happy and understood, while others were confused.

Miami really liked Higgins in this process. He’s a receiver but they’ll switch him to an F. He’s a refined route runner, excellent YAC ability – which McDaniel values more than ANYTHING – and has some juice for a guy who’s also it 240lbs. Good pick for the Dolphins.
