Dolly Parton has been ‘laid to rest’ after private funeral, family confirm

Country music legend Dolly Parton has been laid to rest following a private funeral service held in Nashville on 28 August.
The singer's niece, Lainey Parton, confirmed the burial while paying a heartfelt tribute to her aunt on social media.
Parton was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum alongside her husband of 60 years, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025.
Her death on 25 August followed a cancer diagnosis, which was confirmed by her publicist shortly after her family announced her passing.
The private service fulfilled Parton's long-standing wish for a small family gathering, where she had previously requested the gospel song If We Never Meet Again to be sung.
