Doja Cat has slammed an online critic who said she looked like a "tired old statue".
The Say So singer covered her entire body in gold paint for the A.W.A.K.E. Mode runway show at this year's Paris Fashion Week.
She wore an elegant brown suit by the prestigious fashion house alongside a vegan shearling coat by Simon Miller – with a full face of gold make-up.
The iconic look clearly didn't go down well with one fan who was extremely vocal about their feelings on social media this week.
Doja, real name Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, attended the runway show on Tuesday and was hit with the outspoken fan's brazen review on Twitter.
"This paint is making her look ugly," they said. "When you do make up like this you still need to accentuate features. She look like a tired old statue lmao."
Doja quickly clapped back: "I wasn't trying to look sexy or attractive.
"All of my makeup has a story and there are absolutely 0 rules and if there were you wouldn't be the one making them."
Another fan, who was seemingly trying to compliment Doja's other fashion week looks, also Tweeted: "Some hits and some misses."
They added: "But that’s how it is if you take fashion risks! Props to her tho."
Jumping back to defend herself, Doja replied: "I have no misses. Everything I have done for [fashion week] has been exactly how I wanted it."
On the flipside, one follower clearly a fan of the golden look said: "This is absolutely stunning. You look so ethereal... Powerfully elegant. Dignified and solemnly divine."
Her make-up artist Laurel Charleston revealed Doja asked them to "sign her neck like an artist signs their work when they're finished".
Penning a tribute on Instagram, they said: "Getting to work and create with someone who respects me and my art so much has no doubt changed how I see myself as an artist.
"I have so much gratitude for the brilliant, creative and passionate person she is."
Replying to their post, one fan said: "ALL THE LOOKS you’ve done for doja are SOOOOO good !!! Your work is so so precise and so stunning."
Another said: "I love how much your makeup is thriving. Its stunning as freaking always," followed by a flurry of red love heart emojis.
A third added: "No but i would actually die for a video of the process of any of her makeup looks."
Speaking about make-up last year to Allure magazine, Doja said: "Your face is a notebook. It's damn college notebook paper, and you just doodle all over it."
