The Department of Justice has launched an investigation into Missouri Democratic Congresswoman Cori Bush following accusations that she misused campaign funds to hire her husband's private security firm. Bush, a member of the progressive squad and vocal advocate for defunding the police, has come under scrutiny for reportedly using over $500,000 in campaign funds for private protection.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Bush allocated nearly half a million dollars for private security, with a significant portion of that amount going to her husband, Courtney Merrits. However, it has been noted that Merrits did not possess a private security license in either St. Louis or Washington, D.C., where the Congresswoman operates.
