RTE star Doireann Garrihy has admitted she felt “jittery” before she made her presenter debut on Dancing With The Stars.
The Dubliner joined 2FM presenter Jennifer Zamparelli on Sunday night after Nicky Byrne stepped down from the show last August.
Speaking to Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio 1, Doireann opened up about her first night co-hosting the show, admitting that she felt a bit nervous before going to air.

“[Night one] felt amazing. I was nervous yesterday. I was jittery during the dry runs, but I kind of think it's good to get the jitters out then. Let that be that, go have a little sit down in the dressing room, breathe, have an aul tea.”
Doireann went on to explain that the opening sketch with her and Jennifer, which was pre-recorded before heading live to the studio, helped her calm down before showtime, saying “standing in the wings and watching that really relaxed me - we'd been seen then.
“So I kind of just relaxed then. I didn't forget about the stairs, but if I fall, we could go viral!”
But she added she was delighted to be part of the show.
“I've never really looked forward to January in my life, and so to have a January that I was just so excited about with glitz and glamour and fun, was just amazing,
“Even with the likes of Arthur [Gourounlian] even him as a character, and the queen that is Lorraine [Barry] and Brian [Redmond] with the sass, I'm just so happy to be a part of it.”
