- The Diamond League athletics meeting in Doha has been postponed from its original 8 May date to 19 June, "should conditions allow".
- The decision was made due to ongoing uncertainty caused by the conflict in the Middle East and concerns for athlete and spectator safety.
- As a result, the Shanghai meet on 16 May will now open the elite track and field series instead of Doha.
- The postponed Doha event will move to the Khalifa International Stadium, which features cooling systems, to accommodate higher June temperatures.
- This postponement follows other high-profile sporting event cancellations or rescheduling in Qatar and the wider region, including football and Formula 1.
