A Knowsley dog-sitter has founded a 'doggy food bank' to help fight the cost of living crisis, as heartbroken owners are forced to choose between feeding themselves or their pets.
Nat Conneely, who runs Pawcation doggy day care off Knowsley Lane, was inspired to offer free dog food to struggling owners after hearing stories of people having to give up their beloved dogs as they could no longer afford to feed them.
She said: "I heard about people having to give their dogs up because of the way the cost of living is going, they would have to decide between food for them or food for the dogs. It's sad because dogs are part of the family, and I'd rather help as much as I can.
