Dogs Trust West Calder appeal for new home for Border Collie Tess

Dogs Trust West Calder are appealing to find a forever home for Tess, a charming six-year-old Border Collie eagerly awaiting loving owners, without children or any other pets, to call her own.

She is amazing, affectionate, fun loving and can’t resist the opportunity to play in water. Tess yearns for a tranquil abode with a quiet garden, devoid of surrounding noises and vehicle commotion.

For those willing to adapt to her unique preferences, Tess would be a delightful companion, able to entertain herself when left to her own devices.

Cuddling, tugging and playing fetch are among her favourite activities. However, it's important to note that Tess requires time to establish complete trust with new acquaintances. Sudden movements and unexpected noises can still startle her, capturing her attention and evoking apprehension.

Thus, she would greatly benefit from having a designated relaxation space within her new home.

The cuddly and playful nature of Tess shines through when she engages with a diverse array of toys. With time, patience, and a nurturing environment, Tess has the potential to grow into a loving and loyal companion, ready to bring endless happiness to the fortunate family that can offer her the time and space she needs to flourish.

If you think you could provide a home for Tess or any of the 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, please contact the West Calder Rehoming Centre on 01506 873459. You can also follow Dogs Trust West Calder on Twitter @DT_WestCalder and Instagram @dogstrust_westcalder.

You can also chat about rehoming and fostering at ‘The Long & Short Of It’ event on June 11 at 12-4pm at the West Calder centre.

Dogs Trust West Calder is currently seeking new foster carers across the whole of the Lothians and Scottish Borders. If you could open your home to a dog in need, please email HFHWestCalder@dogstrust.org.uk for more information.

The rehoming centre is also recruiting new volunteers for a variety of roles. Anyone interested in volunteering should email Volunteer Coordinator, Garry Lee at Garry.Lee@dogstrust.org.uk.
