‘Dogs are not allowed’: Indignant Karen insists service dogs are not allowed in Colorado wildlife park, gets schooled by bunch of students

A Karen is an entitled person that doesn’t like fun and often sticks their nose in business that doesn’t involve them. There are people like this everywhere you go these days, but thankfully most are equipped with a camera to expose their childish behavior and the footage more often than not ends up on TikTok.

In this case the spectacular meltdown of a Karen in a wildlife park in Colorado was shared by students after she confronted them about bringing their service dog along with them. The woman, who was not known to the group, approached the students while they were on a field trip to chastise them for bringing the animal, claiming that the dog was scaring the wildlife in the area.

She incorrectly informed the group of young adults that service dogs were not allowed in the park which the students disputed. Despite this, the Karen stood her ground, when asked by another woman whether she owned the park she responded “I live right up there,” and pointed off camera.

Attack of the Karen on our geography field trip today. One of our classmates is a veteran with a service animal. We called the city after this and they apologized for this ladies behavior and let us know it’s completely legal. #karen

In the caption of the video the poster explained that one of their classmates was a veteran with a service animal. It was clear that the woman expected the group to leave the park but thankfully they didn’t back down.

Karen gets schooled

Of course, the woman’s assertion that service dogs were not allowed in the wildlife park was completely wrong. As a matter of fact, service dogs are allowed just about anywhere. According to ada.gov, businesses and state/local governments must “make sure that they do not discriminate against a member of the public with a disability who uses a service animal.”

Generally, any place that is open to the public must allow for people with service dogs to also use the space, a wildlife park would definitely be included in that, therefore, the Karen is in the wrong. The students informed her of the facts, telling her that she can call the authorities if she wants but that they wouldn’t do anything.

However, the woman was insistent, claiming that there are protected species in the area. Eventually, when they realized that the conversation wasn’t going anywhere the group decided to simply leave the angry woman standing there.

The original poster also apparently contacted the city of Fort Collins where the incident took place to complain about the lady who confronted them, they received an apology and confirmation that it is completely legal to bring a service animal to the park. Students: 1 Karen: 0, Karens stay losing.
