Dog trio searches for new home together after being heartlessly ditched by owner

They've been through so much and just want a warm home where they can see out their years together.

Poor Mavis, Eric and Frank were discovered in an abandoned property after being ditched by their owner.

The trio - thought to be a mum, dad and son - have been taken in by Jerry Green Dog Rescue, in South Lincolnshire, and have begun their search for a new home.

A spokeswoman said: "It is always more challenging to find a home for bonded pairs, let alone a bonded trio, and we know it is a significant commitment to undertake.

"But these three love and rely on each other so much that we are desperate to find them a home where they can remain together.

"We hope that, with your help, we can find it. Has anyone got room in their home and heart for a ready-made family to complete theirs?"

Although Mavis and Eric are sprightly parents, it's Mavis and Frank who love running around together and playing, as Eric struggles to keep up with them as his eyesight isn’t the best.

"Despite what they have been through, they have so much love to give," she adds.

"It breaks our hearts that they are not getting many calls from potential forever homes, but with your help we hope that is soon to change.

"We will do everything in our power to find a home where they can live out their days as a family unit, but at some point we may need to face the heartbreaking decision to separate them.

"If their welfare becomes compromised, as ultimately a home, a comfy sofa and a family to love apart, is better than indefinite kennel life together."

Nine-year-old Mavis loves exploring new places with Eric and Frank before ending the day with cuddles on the sofa.

The border terrier cross would like to live with an owner with a "nice garden" where she can potter to her heart's content.

Shih tzu Eric enjoys following Mavis and Frank around while they explore their surroundings.

Staff at Jerry Green Dog Rescue say the eight-year-old has "lots of love to give" to the right owner.

Frank

Alike his parents, four-year-old Frank wants to live in a quiet area with a low dog population as other dogs can worry him when out on walks.

He has been described as a "young chap who loves exploring with his friends".

The spokeswoman added: "They are looking for a home with no other pets. They can live with KS4 children and older, pending introductions.

"They need a home where they are not left too often. They can be left for one to two hours but this could possibly be built up over time.

"While they’re settling into their new home, they would prefer to have a low amount of visitors."
