A sick dog had to be rushed to a vet after eating a hot dog laced with rat poison in an East Ayrshire village.
Residents of Patna have been urged to be vigilant after the pooch took unwell and was raced to animal medics in Maybole this morning.
The dog was said to have started vomiting and became lethargic after chewing the discarded meat left on a popular walking spot by the River Doon.
