Dog owners travel 200 miles to visit pup playground with bouncy castles and ball pits

A playground made just for dogs is proving extremely popular.

Bark N Bounce, located in Salford, Manchester, is a dream for owners looking for a new experience for their dogs, equipped with every giant game and toy you can imagine.

Harley Chester, 28, from Worsley, decided to open up a play area in 2019 to keep her 10 pet dogs occupied, after running the kennels next door.

"I wanted somewhere for my own dogs to play and there was nothing like it around. So I bought a bouncy castle and soon had lots of dogs visiting," Harley said.

Her playground has grown from there and now has a huge 90ft indoor area with a secure outdoor field, equipped with climbing frames, ball pits, paddling pools and games galore.

She welcomes dog owners from up and down the country, and many travels hundreds of miles to let their pups play.

"They come from every end of the UK because there's nowhere else really like us. I've had people from Birmingham, Wales and Scotland," Harley said.

Every few months, Harley adds more equipment and recently introduced an ice-cream truck on weekends, that sells puppuccinos and dog-friendly treats.

Bark N Bounce hosts breed meet-ups and social events, but it is mainly available for private hire.

"We get a lot of people hosting their dog's birthday parties here," Harley explained.

Harley says the dogs love it and the majority of them will try out everything, from sliding down the slides to jumping in the ball pit.

"We get booked up quite far in advance. At the moment, we don't have any available weekends till June," Harley said.

Dog owners can hire the playground for one hour with a minimum charge of £20, and it's just £10 per pup. You can book via their website or on their Facebook page.

Bark N Bounce isn't the only dog play area sending pet parents into a frenzy this summer - Canine Dip and Dive is home to a giant 32ft canine swimming pool with a dive board.

The dog business, set up by husband and wife, Andy and Jo Brownlie, is now opening its fourth site in Maldon, Essex.

"Our newest pool will be ready for Easter weekend and Andy is over there today setting up the site. It's all hands on deck at the moment," Jo Brownlie said.
