A dog sitter has been branded as 'irresponsible' for cancelling on a customer to attend her loved one's funeral. The owner has taken to Google to leave the woman a scathing review about her service, saying she gave "some lame excuse about someone's funeral".
Explaining how she booked her dog in with a sitter two months in advance, the owner said she didn't want "any surprises" when it came to her dog's care. When leaving a one star review, the customer wrote: "An extremely irresponsible person. She said she would take care of my dog. I booked two months in advanced so there was no surprises.

"Of course, she cancelled 20 day before the date, giving some lame excuse about someone's funeral to be held in three weeks time. No recommendation for her."
In response, the dog sitter said: "I am very sorry for this last cancellation. It was also for me something that I didn't expect and really hard to handle. It is a very complicated situation.
"I can send you a picture of the invitation from the funeral so you know that this was not an excuse. It is a painful situation. I hope you can find someone to take care of your dog. Have a nice day."
While most users condemned the owner for being "so insensitive", others said she was given more than enough time to book another sitter.
One user said: "20 days before is also a load of time. She could’ve cancelled even five days before because of the funeral and I would completely understand her reasoning."
Another user added: "I think she assumed the person was lying, funerals aren't planned 20 days out typically."
A third user said: "Sometimes funerals are not held immediately if a person dies unexpectedly and their family isn't available for a funeral.
"Also most people that are buried where I live don't get buried until April-ish because the ground is covered in snow/frozen before then."
One user said: "20 days? That's not a last minute cancellation. I had someone message me yesterday to keep their dog today. Now that's last minute, but I did it."
