A dog owner has warned others to be on their guard when out walking in the countryside after her pet was bitten by a venomous snake. The dog needed urgent veterinary treatment following the ordeal in Northumberland National Park.
Owner Paula said she wanted to share the terrifying experience, which happened last month, to warn others while they are out enjoying the countryside with their pets. Paula was out walking with her daughter Amy and their two-year-old Vizsla, Koda in the Simonside Hills, ChronicleLive reports.
Paula. who did not want to give her second name, said: "The girls (referring to her two dogs, Koda and Willow) had been on the lead for most of the walk for the sheep. We decided to let them off for that section of the walk - something we will now be doing differently in adder season!
