A dog has been infected with monkeypox after catching the virus from its owner, say health officials.
The World Health Organisation (WHO), highlighted the importance of proper isolation and waste management among cases, after the first confirmed case of human-to-dog transmission.
Monkeypox can spread through close contacts and by touching surfaces or fabrics – such as clothing, bedding, or towels – which have been used by someone who is infected.
