A former team-mate of James Tarkowski has said that the new Everton defender 'doesn't get the credit' for how good he is on the ball.
The Toffees confirmed the signing off the ex-Burnley defender on Saturday, putting to bed weeks of speculation. Signed on a free transfer, the 29-year-old is the first summer signing of the club and fans will be hoping more are soon to follow.
Standing at over six foot, the twice-capped England international has forged a reputation in the Premier League as a no-nonsense defender and the style of football the Clarets played under Sean Dyche did little to alter that view. But having played with Tarkowski at Oldham, Robbie Simpson said that the defender is more than capable of playing out from the back with the ball at his feet.
