For a brief moment, it appeared that a Brooklyn Nets squad with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden might challenge their hegemony. Otherwise, the NBA’s Eastern Conference has been Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks’ to lose.
But recently, some cracks in that assumption have begun to resurface. A scorching start from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown’s Boston Celtics foreshadowed a potential changing of the guard in the East. Then the Celtics’ roll slowed at midseason at just as the Greek Freak and the Bucks came roaring back on the longest win streak we have seen this season.
