Emmerdale fans are desperate to know if Jacob Gallagher will die on the ITV soap, after he was stabbed in a twist on Wednesday.
Jacob could be leaving the show for good if fears are correct, as the teen was left to die by drug dealer Callum.
Actor Joseph-Warren Plant has played the role since 2010, while it's not known if he has quit the show.
Nothing was revealed in the spoilers prior to transmission about the attack, making it a shock for viewers when it aired.
Many did not see it coming, leaving fans trying to guess if actor Joe was departing his role as Jacob.
Given it has yet to be revealed or reported that Jacob or actor Joe have left, it seems unlikely he will die.
That said it wouldn't be the first time soaps have sprung a shock death on viewers, with the exit kept under wraps until scenes have aired.
Whether Jacob will die remains to be seen, so viewers will have to tune in all this week for what happens next.
The incident happened after Jacob confronted his mother's drug dealer Callum and things turned nasty. He had been incredibly supportive of his mum after her previous drug relapse and was convinced she was getting better.
Following a stint in rehab, she seemed to be doing well but on Wednesday, she succumbed to her addiction and gave Callum a call to get hold of some cocaine as the pressure of her work mounted amid her split from husband Liam and him pushing the divorce through.
While she didn't end up taking the drugs, son Jacob walked in and found them and he was furious.
He locked her in her bedroom and headed out to meet Callum, but he soon revealed he was carrying a knife.
When Callum and Jacob came face to face, things got violent and Callum accidentally stabbed Jacob with the knife, before leaving him to die.
While Jacob's fate remains unknown, viewers took to Twitter to share their fears as some threatened to switch off if he died.
One viewer said: "How could you emmerdale? If Jacob is killed off, I will never be a statistic on your viewing figures again."
Another fan said: "Noooooo Jacob," while a third wrote: "Omg Jacob better not die!!!"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
