Thursday’s front page photo shows a wheelchair-bound Normandy veteran with an impressive (and undoubtedly hard-earned) array of medals being greeted by King Charles, who also sports a magnificent chestful of decorations. How did Charles “earn” his medals? Just wondering.

• There are some remarkable professions for young people to aspire to – surgeon, teacher, epidemiologist, climate scientist, to name just a few – but it’s very hard to concede Helen Worth’s claim that playing Gail Platt in Coronation Street is “the most wonderful job … in the world” (Coronation Street star Helen Worth to leave after 50 years, 5 June).
