Doctor Who's Varada Sethu: "Belinda isn't afraid to stand up to the Doctor!"

Varada Sethu Belinda Chandra Belinda Varada Sethu Ncuti Gatwa Disney Mandip Gill Millie BBC Studios
Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) stands at the controls of the TARDIS, which in its current incarnation is a blue-grey colour on the inside, with lots of circular lights all around the walls. She is wearing a dark green zip-up jumpsuit.

The universe awaits Varada Sethu as she joins Doctor Who season 15 as the Doctor's newest companion, Belinda Chandra, in the new season. Belinda is a nurse who lives a perfectly normal life — until one night, when she's abducted by alien robots and taken to the farthest reaches of space. That's where she meets the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa), who promises her that he's going to help her escape.

Eagle-eyed fans will know that Varada has been in Doctor Who before as the Anglican soldier Mundy Flynn in the 2024 episode 'Boom' — but exactly how the two characters are connected remains to be seen.
