A doctor has outlined the heart attack signs that women need to look out for.
Appearing on BBC Morning Live on Monday (16 March), Dr Punam Krishan said that there is a “misunderstanding that heart attacks are mainly a man’s disease, when that’s not just the case”.
She explained that whilst the common symptoms that men have include tight chest pain and shortness in breath, the signs in women can look different.
Dr Krishan said women’s symptoms tend to be “a little bit more non-specific”, such as pain in the jaw, throat and back, as well as intense fevers.
“ If you recognise any of these symptoms at all, and it crosses your mind, could this be my heart? Get it checked out.”
