Doctor accused of carrying out hair transplants without license at Glasgow clinic

A doctor is accused of lying and carrying out hair transplants without a license at a Glasgow clinic.

Juan Ruiz Alconero is also alleged to not have had adequate insurance, or indemnity cover, when he carried out the procedures.

He will go before the Medical Practitioners' Tribunal Service (MPTS) next month to face claims he failed to provide good clinical care to four patients.

The misconduct hearing will take place at the MPTS base in Manchester and will also consider a claim the medic lied to the General Medical Council (GMC) when he applied for registration, reports Glasgow Live.

The allegation, published on the MPTS website, states: "Dr Ruiz Alconero submitted an on-line application for registration with the GMC in which he failed to declare all of his work experience from the previous five years and falsely confirmed that the information he had provided was correct and true, and in doing so his actions were dishonest."

The MPTS hears complaints against doctors and their fitness to practise in the UK, and will examine claims Dr Alconero carried out the procedures between August 2016 and January 2017 while based in Glasgow.
