Fremantle big man Rory Lobb has been ruled out of Friday night's blockbuster against Richmond through injury, while Brisbane have loaded up on a host of stars as they attempt to nail down a top-four berth.

Lobb hurt his shoulder during last week's loss to Sydney and he failed to make the trip to Melbourne to take on the Tigers.

His absence means swingman Griffin Logue is set to play as a forward a week after holding Lance Franklin to one goal, with returning backman Alex Pearce to hold the fort in defence.

The Dockers also recalled speedster Liam Henry in place of axed veteran Travis Colyer.

Richmond welcome back premiership ruckman Ivan Soldo, who missed last week's shock loss to North Melbourne with a fractured thumb.

Brisbane have welcomed back skipper Dayne Zorko, Daniel Rich, Jarrod Berry, Marcus Adams and Oscar McInerney for Saturday night's Q-Clash with Gold Coast, but in-form defender Keidean Coleman goes out through injury.

Gold Coast have also made five changes. Elijah Hollands has been named for his AFL debut, while Jy Farrar, Jeremy Sharp, Rory Atkins and Darcy MacPherson were all recalled.

The axe fell on Jack Bowes, Brayden Fiorini, Oleg Markov, Sam Day and Hewago Oea.

The Saints axed Zac Jones and Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera for Sunday's match against West Coast following last week's insipid loss to the Western Bulldogs, while ruckman Paddy Ryder (calf) could miss the rest of the season.

Seb Ross and Hunter Clark are among the inclusions.

The Western Bulldogs welcome back star forward Aaron Naughton (health and safety protocols) for Saturday night's grand final rematch against Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.

Jordon Sweet was dropped.

The Demons regain gun midfielder Clayton Oliver (fractured thumb) and defender Harrison Petty (health and safety protocols), with both Toby Bedford and Adam Tomlinson dropped.

GWS will make at least five changes for Sunday's match against Carlton at Marvel Stadium, with Jesse Hogan (rested), Josh Kelly (concussion), Connor Idun (broken foot) and Tom Green (rested) among the outs.

Braydon Preuss and Adam Kennedy have both been named in the starting line-up.

The Blues will be without injured midfielder George Hewett (back) and the suspended Will Hayes, but defender Mitch McGovern is a chance to return after being named in the extended squad.

Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston is back for Saturday's match against North Melbourne in Hobart after missing two games following the death of his father.

Hawks defender Changkuoth Jiath will miss at least one week with bone bruising on his knee, while North Melbourne go in unchanged, with key forward Nick Larkey named despite being subbed out last week with a heel injury.

Geelong resisted the urge to rush back Brandan Parfitt from his stint in isolation for Saturday's match against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.

Instead, the Cats have included last week's medical substitute Jed Bews for Sam Menegola (concussion) in the only change to their 22.

Port Adelaide included forward Jed McEntee and Jase Burgoyne in place of axed duo Riley Bonner and Jackson Mead.

Collingwood will be boosted by the return of vice-captain Taylor Adams and Isaac Quaynor for Sunday's encounter with Essendon at the MCG.

The Bombers named Brayden Ham, Massimo D'Ambrosio, Alec Waterman and James Stewart among their extended squad.

Sydney and Adelaide go in unchanged for their meeting at the SCG on Saturday.
