Fremantle have knocked back an AFL trade request from contracted big man Rory Lobb while confirming fellow key Dockers Griffin Logue and Blake Acres will depart.
Lobb, who is contracted for next season, formally requested a trade to the Western Bulldogs at his exit meeting on Wednesday but the Dockers said he 29-year-old was too important to their structure to let go.
"Rory indicated that he was seeking a trade," Fremantle football boss Peter Bell told the club's website.
"We had a conversation with Rory where we informed him that due to his contracted status and also the importance that he has for our structure, that we wouldn't be able to facilitate a trade for Rory."
Logue, who spent a large part of this season as a forward after being squeezed out of his preferred backline position, is being heavily chased by North Melbourne.
Acres, who was pictured taking home his personal possessions from Fremantle following his exit meeting on Wednesday, is expected to join Carlton after a career-best season on the wing.
"They are both out of contract and whilst we are disappointed they are seeking to continue their careers elsewhere, we will work to ensure the club is fairly compensated," Bell said.
Contracted fringe midfielder Darcy Tucker has been given Fremantle's blessings to seek a move, but if "no mutually beneficial" trade emerges, he will stay at the Dockers next season.
The Kangaroos are interested in Tucker, with Hawthorn, Geelong, Essendon and Collingwood also in the race.
First-round draft pick Liam Henry and premiership defender Joel Hamling are contracted for 2023, but have fallen out of favour and could leave if the right offer pops up.
The Dockers are vying with West Coast for WA-bound Melbourne ruck Luke Jackson and have been linked to Gold Coast's Jeremy Sharp.
Meanwhile, Liam Jones has chosen the Bulldogs as his preferred playing destination for 2023, but Carlton are expected to receive a compensation pick for the move.
The defender, 31, announced his AFL retirement last November after choosing not to meet the league's COVID-19 vaccination mandate.
But with that mandate now dropped, Jones has decided to resurrect his AFL career at the Dogs, where he started his career before switching to the Blues in 2014.
The Bulldogs released a statement on Thursday confirming Jones' intention and the 31-year-old will move there as an unrestricted free agent.
The Eagles are set to play hard ball with Port Adelaide for Junior Rioli, who has been offered a four-year deal by the Power.
St Kilda's Ben Long has requested a trade to the Suns, while Port midfielder Karl Amon wants to move to Hawthorn as as a free agent.
GWS pair Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto are keen to join Richmond, while their Giants teammate Tanner Bruhn looks set to link up with Geelong.
