For the first time in decades, the Las Vegas Raiders have one of the best defensive lines in the league. Maxx Crosby is a superstar, but it’s no longer a one-man show in Las Vegas.
The Raiders have added talent around Crosby, including Christian Wilkins, to give them one of the deepest units in the league. But where does the group rank compared to the rest of the NFL?
In a recent article by Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus, he ranked all 32 defensive lines ahead of the 2024 season. The Raiders graded out extremely well on the list, coming in at No. 9. Here is what Monson had to say about the defensive line for Las Vegas going into the season:
The Raiders are another team that found its superstar a while ago and has been slow to build around them. Maxx Crosby has been one of the best in football and now has help around him for the first time.
Christian Wilkins was the team’s big offseason addition (literally and figuratively), while edge rusher Malcolm Koonce was so impressive last season that he may insure against Tyree Wilson if he doesn’t develop in year two. This is the most formidable Raiders defensive line in a while.
The Raiders are going to lean heavily on their defense to win games, and they hope that their defensive line can do the job. They are loaded up front, and if Tyree Wilson can take another step, there is no telling what the ceiling could be for this defensive line.
