The Boston Celtics are generating buzz as having one of the most formidable starting fives in the NBA. The team’s starting lineup could include guards Derrick White and Jrue Holiday, wings Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, and big men Al Horford, and Kristaps Porzingis save one, which is an impressive starting five no matter how you divvy them up.
Also, the Celtics have depth with players like Payton Pritchard and Oshea Brissett off the bench, and promising prospects in two way roles like big man Neemias Queta. However, there are concerns about their depth given the injury history of some players, particularly regarding Porzingis and to a lesser extent, Holiday.
The hosts of the Athletic “NBA Show” podcast recently took a deep dive into the strength of Boston’s starters.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear their thoughts on its strength compared to their peers in the league.
