‘Do not do it’: Even Laura Loomer knows Trump shouldn’t pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, but will he listen?

Laura Loomer, a staunch ally of Donald Trump, has issued an incredibly strong public warning to the President, telling him, “Do not do it,” after he gave a noncommittal answer about whether he would pardon convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. This bombshell news broke right after the US Supreme Court essentially shut down Maxwell’s final appeal against her conviction on sex trafficking charges, making the question of a presidential pardon very real and politically explosive. You can’t get more direct than this.

Loomer didn’t hold back at all, posting on X to publicly tag the President, JD Vance, and US Attorney General Pam Bondi. She repeated her message for emphasis, stating, “I repeat. Do not do it.” She made it crystal clear what the political cost would be, adding, “There will be no coming back from that. I repeat again. For the love of God. Do Not Do It.”

That’s seriously blunt advice, and it tells you everything you need to know about how close it is to happening. When even your most loyal supporters are begging you not to do something, it’s time to listen.

Laura Loomer warns Trump about pardons

When reporters asked Trump whether he might use his presidential pardon power to free Maxwell from her 20-year prison sentence, he basically left the door wide open. Maxwell, of course, was a close associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was also a friend of the President. Trump claimed he “haven’t heard the name in so long,” which is a complete lie since everyone keeps reminding him about his ties to Epstein.

He followed up by saying he would need to “speak to” the US Justice Department and that “I’d have to take a look at it. I would have to take a look.” That noncommittal answer is what set off the alarms, because for many people, “taking a look” means a possibility exists, and that’s awful news for the optics of his administration.

The news is hitting while the pressure around the entire Epstein case is at a high. The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear Maxwell’s appeal was actually welcomed by Congressman Robert Garcia, a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

The California Democrat stated that “The supreme court has correctly rejected Ghislaine Maxwell’s latest attempt to escape justice.” Garcia didn’t stop there. He also called the decision by the Trump-led Justice Department to move Maxwell from a federal prison in Florida to a less restrictive facility in Texas “outrageous.” This transfer, which happened back in early August, immediately sparked speculation about whether she might be in line for presidential clemency. Now, it looks like it really will happen.
