The Democratic National Committee projected several messages onto Trump Tower in New York City ahead of the vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance. The projections, which criticized former President Donald Trump, were displayed shortly after 9 p.m. ET on Monday night.
Among the messages shown on the building were: “Trump is a chicken!”, “Go Coach Walz!”, and “Project 2025 HQ”. These messages aimed to draw attention to Trump's actions and policies.
One of the phrases projected read: Vance on Trump: “What an idiot”, referencing past comments made by Vance about the former president in since-deleted tweets. The DNC spokesperson, Abhi Rahman, highlighted Vance's shift in stance towards Trump, accusing him of selling out and promoting Trump's 'dangerous Project 2025 agenda.'
Rahman emphasized that both Trump and Vance are focused on gaining power at any cost, with Vance now aligning himself with Trump despite his previous criticisms. The DNC sees this as a threat to American rights and democracy.
As Vance prepared for the debate against Walz, the projections on Trump Tower NYC served as a reminder of the self-serving nature of Trump and Vance's agenda. The DNC spokesperson expressed confidence that American voters would reject the extreme Project 2025 plans put forth by Trump and Vance in the upcoming election.
