Whether fair or not, a reputation can be a hard thing to shed – nearly impossible in some cases. Whatever Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is like off the field is another matter, but during the games he’s earned a reputation as a bully and a dirty player. The NFL has taken notice, flagging Metcalf four times in five games this season for various infractions.
Head coach Pete Carroll has had multiple conversations with Metcalf about reining in his behavior. However, Metcalf doesn’t seem to want to change. Asked about his penalty issues at Wednesday’s press conference, DK Said he’s not going to change how he plays or who he is. Watch.

While it’s not thrilling to get a guaranteed 15-yard penalty every week for something DK does, to some extent teams need an edge like this. If you’ll recall, Seattle led the league in penalties when they were at their best in 2013-2014. It’s a fine line, but Carroll and the Seahawks know how to walk it.
