Djed Spence has sent a personal message to his former manager Neil Warnock after helping Nottingham Forest return to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a tremendous loan spell at the City Ground after joining the club on loan from Championship rivals Middlesbrough at the start of the season.
Spence has made 46 appearances for the Reds this season and could now join Steve Cooper's side on a permanent basis after they defeated Huddersfield Town at Wembley Stadium to confirm promotion to the Premier League.

It has been claimed that Forest had 'quiet optimism' of keeping Spence at the club, with the Guardian saying that the club "are confident at least two of the loanees will return in some capacity."
Warnock, who sent Spence on loan to Forest when he was in charge of Middlesbrough, told talkSPORT breakfast in January the reason he sent the wing-back away from the Riverside. He said: "I let him go. He needed to sort himself out, really.
"I basically said to him that you can go to the top or you can go non-league."
Spence has previously remained quiet on his situation, but following the Wembley triumph, he took to his Twitter page to send a message to the now-retired Warnock.
Alongside an image of him posing with the Championship play-off final trophy and a cigar in his mouth, Spence wrote: "Oh, Where's my Manners! Welcome to Twitter @warnockofficial."
The former Sheffield United boss joined Twitter five days ago.
