The Carolina Panthers were clearly missing the downfield element of their passing game in this past Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback Bryce Young averaged a paltry 3.8 yards per attempt and the team’s leading receiver at the wideout position, Terrace Marshall Jr., finished with just 23 yards.
But, luckily for the offense, they may be getting a piece to that puzzle back for Monday’s showdown with the New Orleans Saints.
Buy Panthers TicketsFormer Pro Bowler DJ Chark was listed as a limited participant in today’s practice. The 26-year-old, who also participated in yesterday’s outing, missed the Week 1 matchup in Atlanta due to a hamstring injury.
Chark, additionally, told Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer before today’s practice that he feels confident about his status for Week 2:
I spoke with #Panthers WR DJ Chark (hamstring) in the locker room, and he said he and the team are confident he will play on Monday. But he curbed that optimism a tad by saying the final decision is still up in the air.
