Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across Merseyside are celebrating the five-day Festival of Lights, Diwali.
Diwali, which for some represents harvest and new year celebrations, and focusses on good over evil and light over darkness. The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali. It means "rows of lighted lamps".
This year Diwali takes place from Saturday, October 22 to October 26. The main day of celebration on Monday, November 24.
