NAGPUR: Asian chess queen Divya Deshmukh won the seventh game of the World Junior championship to remain in sole lead with eight points from nine rounds at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Tuesday.
In the ninth round, top seeded Divya defended well with her black pieces to get the better of compatriot Rakshitta Ravi in 41 moves. For the second day in succession, Divya made the most of her extra pawns in the end game to garner full points.
