Diversity and inclusion recognised at 25th Deals and Dealmakers Awards

This year's Deals and Dealmakers Awards will include a new category, the Diversity and Inclusion Award.

It aims to recognise a company, team or individual which embraces diversity, giving examples of recent work towards inclusion within Scotland's deal-making community. The category covers excellence in areas including gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race and religion.

The award is presented in partnership with Scottish Enterprise, which joins several other sponsors of the ceremony, including Livingston James for Emerging Dealmaker of the Year, PIB Insurance for Transformational Deal of the Year, RBC Brewin Dolphin for Early Stage Deal of the Year, Dow Schofield Watts for Sale of the Year, and Evelyn Partners as support partner.

Judging panel chair Jane Stewart explained: “Having passionately championed diversity and inclusion throughout my tenure with the judging panel, I am delighted that Insider agreed to my request to introduce a new diversity and inclusion category to celebrate and spotlight positive initiatives in the dealmaking community at an individual, team or corporate level.

“In celebrating success and highlighting positive action and impact we lead by example and raise awareness of the significant opportunities to take action and unlock value through embracing diversity of thought and approach in deals and dealmaking.

“We’re keen to see diverse applications across all award categories and look forward to reviewing entries in another strong deals year across Scotland.”

Returning for a 25th year, the awards take place on 24 August at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Glasgow central, and are a great opportunity for networking with the best and brightest in Scottish deal-making.

Entries are now open for the deal-making companies, lawyers, accountants, advisers, bankers and backers moving the market during the last 12 months.
