In Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the first female voters at a polling site exemplified the diverse viewpoints and strong voter engagement in this crucial swing county located north of Philadelphia.
At one of the largest voting sites in Bucks County, the initial voters began queuing up over an hour before the polls opened. The first three women who entered to cast their votes shared a common goal - ensuring their votes were counted by voting in person. One of the women expressed her preference for in-person voting, stating, 'I’m old school.'
However, their unity ended there as each woman held distinct political perspectives. While all three chose to remain anonymous, one White woman revealed her support for Donald Trump, citing a desire for change. Her voting decisions were influenced by issues such as foreign policy, the economy, and border security.
The second and third women, both Black, arrived at Bensalem High School together to exercise their voting rights. Their focus was on advocating for women's rights, with one of them emphasizing, 'Don’t tell me what to do with my body.' They cast their votes for Kamala Harris, emphasizing their support for women's issues. Notably, they mentioned having voted for candidates from both the Democratic and Republican parties in previous elections.
