Alarming footage has emerged of a man savagely attacking a young woman moments after allegedly being bottled in the face on the main street of a Co Longford village yesterday morning.
The incident took place in Newtownforbes, Co Longford at around 1:30am.
The Irish Mirror understands the man, who is aged in his 20s, required eight stitches to the side of his face following the alleged attack.

Video footage of the incident has since emerged, showing a man kicking and punching a woman to the ground.
The female can be seen falling to the ground during which a number of knees and punches can be seen striking the young woman as she lay prone on the floor.
Gardaí have confirmed a woman in her 20s was arrested and later released without charge ahead of a file being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that occurred in Newtownforbes, Co. Longford on Friday, 21st April 2023,” said a garda spokesperson.
“A male was injured and received medical treatment.
“A female was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Longford.
“She has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP."
