Flights at Manchester Airport are set to be disrupted after heavy snow caused its runways to be shut. Both runways at Ringway have been temporarily closed to remove snow and slush.
Inbound flights due to arrive in Manchester are reportedly being diverted to other UK airports. A Manchester Airport spokesperson said: "Due to heavy snow fall, we have temporary closed both runways. Health and safety will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity."
"Flights suspended at Manchester Airport so the runway can be cleared of snow and slush," traffic alert service Inrix reported. "Outbound flights are on hold and Inbound flights divert to Birmingham, East Midlands or London."
