A gospel tradition featuring Southern California choirs that goes back more than a decade at Disneyland returns in February as the Anaheim theme park celebrates Black History Month with music, food and new theme park additions.
The Celebrate Soulfully event honoring Black culture with authentic food and music will run throughout February at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure and Disney hotels.
Here’s a closer look at the lineup of music, food and theme park experiences planned for the Disneyland resort during Black History Month.
Music
The Celebrate Gospel music festival returns to the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland on Feb. 18 and 25.
The gospel music showcase featuring award-winning recording artists and Southern California community choirs runs on consecutive Saturdays from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
On Feb. 18, the Celebrate Gospel lineup includes Jekalyn Carr, Melvin Crispell III and Sacred Groove. On Feb. 25, Grammy winner Erica Campbell will take the stage with Doe and the Singers of Soul.
The Downtown Disney stage will feature music every night in February — ranging from R&B, Reggae and Funk to Motown, Jazz and Doo-Wop. Gospel groups will perform on the Downtown Disney stage on select weekend afternoons in February.
Mood Indigo will play live jazz every night in February in the lobby of the Grand Californian.
Food
Select restaurants in Disneyland and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel will offer Black History Month menu items throughout February.

Shrimp & Grits: Andouille-fava relish, cheesy grits and shrimp sauce
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
Peach Cobbler Donut: Vanilla-dipped donut filled with peach compote and topped with a cinnamon sugar puff
River Belle Terrace
Southern BBQ Platter: Brisket, fried chicken, burnt ends pork belly, mashed potatoes, baked beans, slaw and a house-baked biscuit
Hearthstone Lounge
Baked Andouille Mac & Cheese: Pasta with white cheese sauce, chopped herbs and Andouille sausage
Apricot Manhattan: Uncle Nearest 1884 Whiskey, Giffards Abricot du Roussillon and Amaro Nonino garnished with maraschino cherries
Spiced Fizz: Hanson of Sonoma Habanero Vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and raspberry syrup garnished with raspberries and a lime wedge
Troubadour Tavern
The food stand next to the Fantasyland Theatre will serve a Fried Chicken Bowl with mac ‘n’ cheese, collard greens and cornbread along with Red Velvet Bundt Cake on Feb. 18 and 25 during the Celebrate Gospel music event.
Downtown Disney
A pair of Black-owned food trucks — College Boy Cheesesteaks and Wings ’N Waffles — will operate in Downtown Disney from Feb. 9 through March 5 as part of the Celebrate Soulfully event.
Theme parks
A new National Geographic video playing in Disneyland’s Main Street Opera House highlights the historic relationship between Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln in their fight against slavery.
The teenage Marvel superhero Moon Girl will make meet-and-greet appearances in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure starting in mid-February — timed to the debut of the new “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” show on Disney+ and the Disney Channel.
