Disabled mum disgusted as ‘moronic’ note left on car during shopping trip

A woman was left upset after coming back to her car to find an offensive note that asked her if she was "actually disabled."

Following a day at the shops in Canberra, Australia, the woman returned to the car where she found the note posted on it, The Mirror reports.

It read: "Hi, Are you truly disabled? You both walked from your car like athletes. Please follow the rules."

The disabled driver remarked that the individual had the "absolute gall" to judge her personal situation.

Taking to the internet, she said: "My mother is disabled, her disability isn’t visible. She was legally given a disability parking permit because she is DISABLED! What a moron."

An image of the message that was left has been shared on social media forum site Reddit, with people just as shocked as the woman was upon discovering it.

One individual said: "That is a true ****’s act. Please let your mum know that the rest of society does not judge people like this, it’s an act of a lonely coward."

Another stated that the person who left the note "needs to f*** off right now, then f*** off some more."

"I’m sorry you were on the receiving end of this. I hope your mother will continue to use disability parking. When we make sure people with disabilities have access, society wins," another sympathetic poster said.

One more told the poster that they were sorry they had to find the note and that the writer "must have been having a bad day."

"There’s no need to ever justify why you have a disabled ‘sticker’. It’s no-one’s business but your own, no matter how cruel some people are in reminding you you have one," a final comment said.
