Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey has revealed that she was unrecognisable to some people after undergoing a nose job following the release of the iconic film in 1987.
The actor, 62, is best known for her role as Frances 'Baby' Houseman in the film, in which she starred alongside the late Patrick Swayze, who played Johnny Castle.
Following its success, Grey - who had previously appeared in Ferris Bueller's Day Off - underwent two rhinoplasty surgeries which left her unrecognisable to some people.
She's opened up about her experiences in her new memoir, Out of the Corner, in which she recalls the aftermath of the nose jobs and her relationship with former co-star Swayze.
Speaking about her rhinoplasty with People, Grey spoke the impact of such, with Michael Douglas, now 77, said to have not recognised her at a premiere after the second nose job.
She said: "That was the first time I had gone out in public. And it became the thing, the idea of being completely invisible, from one day to the next. In the world's eyes, I was no longer me."
The actor said that she had resisted having rhinoplasty her whole life, but "understood" that other Jewish actors - of an older generation - had undergone nose jobs to "assimilate."

She said: "I understood that you had to change your name and you had to do certain things, and it was just normalized [...] You're just trying to fit into whatever is the group think."
Grey told the New York Times that she was encouraged to undergo a nose job by a relative and three plastic surgeons, with her second procedure leaving her nose "truncated."
She recalled that an airline employee - who had seen Dirty Dancing numerous times - didn't recognise her and even told the actor: "I know Jennifer Grey. And you are not her."
Being unrecognisable is said to have affected her career, though she's continued to work over the last few decades, including as a guest judge on Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.
She has announced that she is currently working on a sequel to Dirty Dancing, with a script said to be in the works - more than 30 years after the original was first released.
Grey told People: "I would love to give fans or a young, new audience an experience that would never replicate that, but has the same kind of underpinnings."
