Football Focus pundit Dion Dublin has described Leeds winger Jack Harrison as ‘incredible’ with the 25-year-old admitting he hopes to go to Qatar with England
Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been backed by pundit Dion Dublin to make it into the England squad, describing him as “incredible,” however, whether or not that will be in time for the World Cup is undecided.
Speaking in an interview with Football Focus, the 25-year-old revealed how keen he is to make it into Gareth Southgate’s squad for Qatar in November despite not yet being included in a senior squad.

“For me, right now, I really want to make it to the England squad and hopefully play at the World Cup,” Harrison told Football Focus. “That would be a dream come true, something that I’ve been striving towards for the last couple of years.
“I don’t even know how you would describe it [what it would mean]. To see my family’s faces at that moment, if I was to make it would be the most gratifying moment.”
Although it would be a tall ask for Harrison to make the final selection for the World Cup, he is constantly gaining admirers, with Dublin certainly one of them.
“He’s shown, especially in the last game, that he’s starting to affect football matches now on his own,” the former Aston Villa striker said. “Raphinha’s gone, [Kalvin] Phillips has gone, he’s having to be the man. He’s the main man now. They’re looking to him to create stuff and score goals.
“Not quite yet [ready for England]. Another three or four games. I’m sure Gareth Southgate has got his eyes on him anyways but with the quality that he has, he will get into the England squad. When? We will find out but what he’s doing for Leeds is incredible at the moment.”
The winger’s excellent form has correlated alongside Leeds’ impressive start to the new season, with the 25-year-old registering three assists thus far whilst scoring in the 3-0 romp of Chelsea last weekend.
To put that into perspective, the wide man provided just one assist all season in the Premier League last term, scoring eight goals in 35 appearances. If he manages to find a good level of consistency then it could be an incredibly exciting season for the Englishman.
