Several Liverpool players were on international duty for their respective countries on Saturday night.
Diogo Jota was on the score sheet for Portugal as they claimed a comprehensive 4-0 win over the Czech Republic. Goals from Manchester United's Diogo Dalot (2) and Bruno Fernandes supported Jota’s late header, which sealed a routine victory in the Nations League.
Jota was not included in the starting line-up for the match in Prague, having only recently recovered from an injury that had ruled him out for the early weeks of the campaign. The 25-year-old was introduced soon after the hour mark, though, and scored with less than 10 minutes left to play.

It was Jota’s first goal of the season, having yet to find the back of the net for Liverpool this term.
Elsewhere in action was Kostas Tsimikas, who started at left-back for Greece against Cyprus. But Tsimikas was unable to stop his country from going down to a 1-0 Nations League away defeat.
Some of Liverpool’s young stars were also in action, including Oakley Cannonier. The prolific 18-year-old striker scored twice as he helped England Under-19s claim a 6-0 victory over Georgia.
Plus, James Balagizi was in action for England Under-20s on Saturday. The youngster, who is on loan at Crawley Town, started for his country as they won 2-0 against Morocco.
