Manchester United player Diogo Dalot has fired a warning out to Newcastle United stating that Erik ten Hag’s side feel energised ahead of Sunday’s much anticipated Carabao Cup final.
It is the Magpies’ first major final for 24 years and presents an opportunity for the club to claim their first piece of major domestic silverware since 1955, when they lifted the FA Cup, defeating Manchester City 3-1 at the Old Wembley.
For Manchester United, Sunday’s is also a good chance to end what has been a mini trophy drought by their own lofty standards, with the Red Devils last picking up silverware under José Mourinho when they dispatched of Ajax in the 2017 Europa League final.

Both sides look to be recapturing their best form in years so far this campaign with Newcastle boss Eddie Howe credited for a significant recent surge in performances and results which has led to them being well placed to achieve a top four finish for the first time since the 2002/03 season under Bobby Robson.
Ten Hag, since arriving from Ajax in the summer, has also had a positive impact on his side with United on Thursday evening enjoying an impressive statement victory in the competition in which they were most recently successful.
Following an enthralling 2-2 draw Barcelona’s Camp Nou, the Blaugrana travelled to Manchester midweek in the second leg of a titanic Europa League Round of 32 tie, in which the hosts emerged triumphant.
Portugal international Dalot, who in recent weeks has seen his starting spot usurped by the in-form Aaron Wan-Bissaka, believes United’s second-half come-back against the La Liga leaders on Thursday night gives them the edge heading into Sunday’s cup clash against the Magpies.
"I think there is no better way to go to a Cup Final after a result and performance like we did. I think the fans enjoyed it and we enjoyed the atmosphere, playing alongside with them.
"We made a good combination yesterday [on Thursday night], between players and fans. I think the result and performance will give us energy for the cup final."
