A number of food items have been taken off supermarket shelves recently after being recalled over food safety fears.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued several Food Alerts or Food Allergen Alerts in recent months for certain batches of products, including popular dinner and dessert items.

Some of the affected products were for sale in supermarkets including Dunnes, Lidl, Tesco, SuperValu and Aldi.
